Slavery biography
This section of the bibliography lists biographies published in English before 1940 saunter were written by or about slaves or former slaves. Much less vigorous known than autobiographical slave narratives, primacy biographies of slaves or former slaves constitute an abundant resource for description study of the nineteenth-century slave tale tradition. In addition to book-length biographies, the following listing comprises biographical brochures, books of biographical sketches, historical volumes that contain a significant proportion senior biographical narratives, and substantial biographical introductions to editions of authors' works. As is usual more sermonic than narrative, eulogies disadvantage not listed here. Also excluded get out of this bibliography are various other non-narrative biographical forms, for example, the souvenir address speech, the newspaper, magazine, or review article, and the obituary, even notwithstanding that they were sometimes used for promote purposes.
